၁၃ ရက္ေန႔ မနက္က က်ေနာ့္ အီးေမးလ္ ေသတၱာတြင္းသုိ႔ ေဆးတကၠသုိလ္ မန္းထြက္ ဂ်ဴနီယာညီ တေယာက္ဆီမွ မႏၲေလး ေဆးရုံႀကီး အထူးၾကပ္မတ္ ကုသေဆာင္တြင္ ဆရာႀကီး ဦးေဖသိန္း ဆံုးၿပီဆုိသည့္ စာတေစာင္ဝင္လာပါသည္။
ထုိစာဖတ္ၿပီးေနာက္ စိတ္အစဥ္သည္ လြန္ခဲ့သည့္ ၂၁ ႏွစ္က ဇန္နဝါရီလကုိ ျပန္ေရာက္သြားေတာ့သည္။ ရန္ကုန္ၿမိဳ႕ ဦးဝိစာရ အဗင္းႏ်ဴးေဘး ၿခံတၿခံတြင္းရွိ တုိက္ပုကေလး ဧည့္ခန္းတြင္ သက္လတ္ပုိင္း အမ်ိဳးသမီး ႏွစ္ေယာက္ႏွင့္ ကေလးတေယာက္ ထုိင္ေနသည္ကုိ လည္းေကာင္း၊ ခပ္ေခ်ာေခ်ာ ႏွာတံေပၚေပၚ ဥပဓိေကာင္းလွသည့္ အန္တီႀကီးတေယာက္ ထြက္ဧည့္ခံသည္ကုိ လည္းေကာင္း မ်က္စိထဲ ေပၚလာပါသည္။
ထုိအိမ္ရွင္ အန္တီႀကီးမွာ ဦးေဖသိန္းကေတာ္ ေဒၚၾကဴၾကဴေဆြ (သားဖြားမီးယပ္ပါေမာကၡ) ျဖစ္ၿပီး ဧည့္သည္အမ်ိဳးသမီးႏွစ္ဦးမွာ က်ေနာ့္အေမႏွင့္ အေဒၚ ညီအစ္မျဖစ္ပါ၏။ ကေလးေပါက္စ မည္သူမည္ဝါျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း စာဖတ္သူမ်ားကုိ ဝိတၱာရခ်ဲဲ႕ဖုိ႔ မလုိေတာ့ပါ။
ထုိစဥ္က အေမ့နယ္ေျပာင္းနယ္ေရႊ႕ကိစၥအတြက္ သူ႔ဆရာေတြလုိက္ေတြ႔သည္ဟုသာ နားလည္ထားပါသည္။ ေနာက္က်မွ ထုိအိမ္ရွင္ အမ်ိဳးသမီးႀကီးမွာ အာဏာသိမ္းခါစ နဝတ စစ္အစုိးရ က်န္းမာေရးႏွင့္ပညာေရးဝန္ႀကီးကေတာ္ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း၊ အေမ့ နယ္ေျပာင္းကိစၥတြင္ ခ်င္းေတာင္ျပန္မသြားဖို႔ ကိစၥအျပင္ အေရးအခင္းၿပီးၿပီးခ်င္း အလုပ္ျပန္မဝင္ေသာေၾကာင့္ ထုေခ်လႊာ တင္ခုိင္းေသာကိစၥ၊ အေရးအခင္းတုန္းက ဆရာဝန္ေတြ ေဆးရုံပစ္ေျပးသည္ဆုိၿပီး အတုိင္ခံရသည့္ ကိစၥမ်ားပါဝင္ေၾကာင္း သိရသည္။
အေရးအခင္းတြင္ ဒီမုိကေရစီေတာင္းဆုိမႈမ်ားအျပင္ လူမ်ိဳးေရး၊ ျမန္မာမုန္းတီးေရး တင္းမာမႈမ်ား ပါရွိလာသည့္အတြက္ ဆရာဝန္ေတြ ျမန္မာေတြ ေျမျပန္႔ဆင္းေျပးရသည့္အေၾကာင္း သိသြားသည့္အခါ ဝန္ႀကီးေဒါက္တာေဖသိန္းက ထုိေဒသမ်ားသုိ႔ အမ်ိဳးသမီး ဆရာဝန္မ်ားမလႊတ္သင့္ဟု ညႊန္ၾကားၿပီး က်ေနာ့္မာမီဘုရားကုိ အညာၿမိဳ႕ႀကီးတၿမိဳ႕သုိ႔ ေျပာင္းေရႊ႕ေပးလုိက္ပါသည္။
ထုိ႔ေနာက္ ဆရာဦးေဖသိန္းကုိ မွတ္မွတ္ရရ ႏွစ္ခါသာ ျပန္ေတြ႔ဖူးပါေတာ့သည္။ နဝတမွ နအဖ ဟု ဆုိင္းဘုတ္မလဲမီ တႏွစ္က မန္းေရႊၿမိဳ႕၌ ထိပ္သီးသန္းသန္း ေခတၱစံျမန္းေတာ္မူစဥ္ ပါလာသည့္ ဝန္ႀကီးတခ်ိဳ႕ကုိ ၿမိဳ႕ေပၚက သက္ႀကီး စာေရးဆရာမ်ားအား စာဆုိေတာ္ေန႔ လုိက္ကန္ေတာ့ဖို႔ လႊတ္လုိက္သျဖင့္ ျပန္ၾကားေရးဝန္မင္း ဗုိလ္မႉးခ်ဳပ္ေအးေက်ာ္ (ဘိလပ္တြင္ဆုံး) ႏွင့္ ဆရာေဖသိန္း လုိက္ပါလာျခင္းျဖစ္ပါသည္။ ထုိစဥ္က ဘယ္ယၾတာကိန္းခန္းအရ မသိ၊ ဆရာဝန္ ေက်ာင္းဆရာ ဘိလပ္ျပန္ပါရဂူမွာ အေၾကာင္းမညီညြတ္ဘဲ ႏွာေခါင္းဆီဆြတ္၍ ေဘာင္းဘီဝတ္ေနခ်ိန္ျဖစ္ပါသည္။
ဘယ္အပြင့္ ဘယ္အခက္ေတြ ဘယ္လုိတင္ေစကာမူ ဗုိလ္မႉးႀကီးေယာင္ေဆာင္ထားရေသာ ပါေမာကၡႀကီးမွာ ေက်ာင္းဆရာ ပုံစံမေပ်ာက္ပါ။ ေဒၚအမာႏွင့္ ေတြ႔ခ်င္သျဖင့္ လုိက္လာျခင္းျဖစ္ပီး အျပန္တြင္လည္း ထပ္လာဦးမည္ဟု ႏႈတ္ဆက္ သြားပါေသးသည္။
ျပန္လာေသာ အခ်ိန္တြင္ ဆရာႀကီးမွာ ပါကင္ေဆာနစ္ဆင္ေခၚ သြက္ခ်ာပါဒေဝဒနာသည္ တေယာက္ ျဖစ္ေနရွာေလၿပီ။ ရန္ကုန္ ေတာ္လွန္ေရးပန္းၿခံအနီး ရိပ္သာလမ္းမႀကီးေပၚက သူ႔အေဖ သမၼတအိမ္ေတာ္ဝန္ စစ္ေရွ႕ေခတ္အတြင္းဝန္ေဟာင္း စည္သူဦးစံေဖ (K.S.M, A.T.M ) ပုိင္ၿခံဝန္းထဲတြင္ ရွိသမွ်ႏွင့္ ေခြ်တာေဆာက္လုပ္ထားေသာ အိမ္ကေလးမွာလည္း လူႀကီးနယ္ေျမမုိ႔ ခဏခဏ ဟုိပိတ္ဒီပိတ္ လုပ္သည့္အခါတုိင္း ညေရးညတာ က်န္းမာေရးအတြက္ အဝင္အထြက္ ခက္လွေသာေၾကာင့္ မႏၲေလးကသားဆီ ျပန္ေျပာင္းလာျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။
ေရႊညာဆီျပန္လာေသာ ဝန္ႀကီးေဟာင္းႏွင့္ မိခင္ႏွင့္ကေလးဥကၠ႒ေဟာင္းတုိ႔တြင္ ေခၽြမွရံေသာသူမ်ား မရွိေတာ့ေသာ္လည္း တပည့္တပန္းေဟာင္း၊ မိတ္ေဟာင္းေဆြေဟာင္းေတြ သုိင္းသုိင္းဝန္းဝန္းႏွင့္မုိ႔ အထူးအားငယ္စရာ မရွိပါ။
ဘိလပ္ျပန္အမရာ ဆုိေလာက္သည့္ ဆရာမႀကီးမွာလည္း နာတာရွည္ခင္ပြန္းႏွင့္ မိခင္ႏွင့္အေဒၚညီအစ္မကုိ ဒုိင္ခံ ျပဳစု ရသည့္ ကမၻာ့အသက္အႀကီးဆုံး ၈၀ ေက်ာ္ သူနာျပဳ ျဖစ္ပါသည္။
အဘိဓမၼာအေၾကာင္း အဂၤလိပ္လုိေရးသားခဲ့ေသာ ဦးစံေဖ၏ေသြးပါလာသည့္ တြမ္စံေဖေခၚ ဦးေဖသိန္းသည္ ေရာဂါ ဖိစီးေနသည့္ၾကားက ျမန္မာစာကုိ ရုိမန္အကၡရာႏွင့္ အလြယ္တကူ ေရးႏုိင္ေအာင္ ကြန္ပ်ဴတာေလးႏွင့္ ႀကိဳးစား ပါေသးသည္။

ဆရာဂၽြန္ကိုယ္တိုင္ ၀င္ေရးျပီဆိုေတာ့ ဒိထက္အမွန္တရားက ိုသိခ်င္ေသးသလား မန္းကမမ ေဒါက္တာၾကီး။ သြဲ႕တို႕ႏြဲ႕တို႕ကို ေျပာေနတာ မဟုတ္ သူတို႕က ေျမဇာပင္ေလးေတြပါ။ မန္းမမေဒါက္တာ ထန္းရြက္ေလးနဲ႕ကာပါဦး။

I have no comments about BoBo Lan Sin writing an obituary about U Pe Thein. Maybe he was not in the 2nd MB class when this thing about Taing KaungSi OkkaHta U Tin Hla"s daughter case came up.What i am very perturbed is the fact that B.S. Ko Lay (BalaDewa Singh Ko Lay) and U Khin Maung Sein, 'mentioning my name' and commenting that i was wrong in attacking U Pe Thein. i am deeply upset because both these former colleagues of mine 'did not know' the REAL REASON behind my personal attacks on U Pe Thein. Since they were 'not aware' of the real reason, these two 'should not' have commented on this matter. But, shamelessly they did. This surprised me no end, since by commenting on this matter, both B.S Ko Lay and U Khin Maung Sein exposed their 'INTELLECTUAL HIATUS AND MORAL APATHY' which is unbecoming of men of their intellectual status and their ranks.
During the Examiner's Board Meeting after that fated examination, i reminded U Pe Thein not to meddle in this matter of giving Distinction as he was the 'Chairman' of the Board and should be 'NEUTRAL' and also because there were fourteen students who scored the 'same marks' as that girl. Despite this reminder he ignored the status of those fourteen students and 'urged' the members of the Examination Board to agree to his suggestion. There were 37 lecturers at that Board Meeting and not one , including the Head of the Department U Khin Maung Sein and the son of that Punjabi, Bala Dewa 'SINGH' Ko Lay protested against THE DECISION as 'being IMPROPER AND CORRUPT'.
U Pe Thein has been 'selected' and 'appointed' as the RECTOR OF THE INSTITUTE OF MEDICNE in Mandalay, which means he is the top WATCHDOG to see that no such 'Hanky Panky' takes place. But , not only such cheating took place but 'he ' was the prime person 'suggesting' this type of 'cheating and corruption'. We should realize that this is not a primary school. This is the Institute of Higher Learning. How can the Top watchdog commit such cheating and corruption????. He is not a Saikkar peddler. He is a holder of M.B., B.S, and PhD degree from UK. Can you and i who have put much 'faith' and 'trust' in him as the Rector, allow him to commit such morally degrading and shameful act knowingly???

Now, Both U Pe Thein and I were educated in Schools run by Christians Brothers of the La Salle Order, where all of us were instructed to be 'GENTLEMANLY'. but by not giving me a 'running chance' and asking me to vacate the room immediately, i thought it was atypical of a Brother's boy to do that which was extremely 'UNGENTLEMANLY'. IT WAS THEN THAT I DECIDED TO BANG HIS SHOULDER EACH TIME I MET HIM IN THE CORRIDOR OF THE INSTITUTE, AND ONCE IT HAPPENED IN FRONT OF THE MANDALAY DIVISION MASALA PARTY PRESIDENT.
So now that the real reason behind my personal attacks on U Pe Thein has been explained, i would just like to say that Bala Dewa Singh and U Khin Maung Sein are fortunate i am no longer in Mandalay. If i could with sheer abandon do what i did to their chief during the time his star was flying high, you can imagine what i can do to these two who are no better than mere 'squeaks' in U Pe Thein's arse.
During the Examiner's Board Meeting after that fated examination, i reminded U Pe Thein not to meddle in this matter of giving Distinction as he was the 'Chairman' of the Board and should be 'NEUTRAL' and also because there were fourteen students who scored the 'same marks' as that girl. Despite this reminder he ignored the status of those fourteen students and 'urged' the members of the Examination Board to agree to his suggestion. There were 37 lecturers at that Board Meeting and not one , including the Head of the Department U Khin Maung Sein and the son of that Punjabi, Bala Dewa 'SINGH' Ko Lay protested against THE DECISION as 'being IMPROPER AND CORRUPT'.
U Pe Thein has been 'selected' and 'appointed' as the RECTOR OF THE INSTITUTE OF MEDICNE in Mandalay, which means he is the top WATCHDOG to see that no such 'Hanky Panky' takes place. But , not only such cheating took place but 'he ' was the prime person 'suggesting' this type of 'cheating and corruption'. We should realize that this is not a primary school. This is the Institute of Higher Learning. How can the Top watchdog commit such cheating and corruption????. He is not a Saikkar peddler. He is a holder of M.B., B.S, and PhD degree from UK. Can you and i who have put much 'faith' and 'trust' in him as the Rector, allow him to commit such morally degrading and shameful act knowingly???

To saya Khun Pan Sein and all others,
Can I ask a favour on behalf of all our citizens who have never had the chance to enjoy "freedom of speech" or "free media"?
Pls don't wait till history repeats. If you know the truth or think that you know the truth, pls let the truth be know. The truth cannot speak for itself at the moment in Myanmar where its mouth is forced to shut by oppression. The truth might hurt someone a little but in the long run, it will speak for itself.
If your truth is somewhat different from others, it will create a debate which is natural and desirable in an intellectually sound society. Let's just be open (esply to criticisims) and share what we know.
We, younger genearations (including the author bobolansin) will never know "the truth" (and its different versions) unless you, older and experienced generations, let us know.

I agree with B.S. Ko Lay. Saya John Hla-Khine has been very wrong to attack Sayagyi U Pe Thein by shouldering him down in front of the teachers and students in Mandalay. He was very hostile to me too since I was appointed Professor and Head of Department of Anatomy at Mandalay IM after his teacher was removed. I bear no grudge to both.
I sympathized with him of course as he was the only person not appointed to a professor post with a Ph.D. in anatomy. That's why he is so frustrated and insolent.

What Bo Bo Lan Sin writes is correct. Sayagyi U Pe Thein was meek and magnanimous. He did not take action on many of his subordinates for their petty crimes or mistakes except on Say John Hla Khaing who physically attacked him when he was rector of IMM and Saya John was lecturer in anatomy. I heard that John Hla Khaing was removed from service and he got the passport with the help pf the "Favorite Daughter." John and his brother Colonel Htun Hlaing or Maurice Hla Maung are never Christians, They are born Pan-Thays.

ဘိုဘိုလန္းစင္ ငယ္ေသးလို႕ ျဖစ္ပါမယ္။ေဆးမန္းမွာ သူ ပါခ်ဳပ္ လုပ္စဥ္က တိုင္းေကာင္စီ ဥကထ ဦးတင္လွက သူ႕သမီးေတြ ျဖစ္တဲ႕ သြဲ႕နဲ႕ႏြဲ႕ကို ဒု အမ္ဘီတန္းမွာ အနာတမ ီဂုဏ္ထူး ေပးဖို႕ရာ စာေမးပြဲ မစစ္မီကပင္ ၾကိဳေျပာထားရာ ေမးခြန္းလည္း ရထား။ ဗိုင္ဗာ ႏႈတ္ေမးခြန္းမွာ ဂုဏ္ထူးေပးဖို႕ ေျပာထားတယ္။ ဒီမွာဆရာ ဂၽြန္လွခိုင္ က မလုပ္ႏိုင္ဖူး ေျပာလို႕ ေဆး၂ကို ေျပာင္းပစ္တယ္။ ဆရာ့ကိုမန္းနဲ႕ ေဆး၂ သြားလိုက္ ျပန္လိုက္ လုပ္ခိုင္းတယ္။ ၆လစီ။ ေနာက္ေတာ့ ဆရာက အလုပ္ထြက္ျပီး ေမျမိဳ႕ မန္းေလး အမ္အမ္တီေအ ဂ်စ္ကာ းေမာင္းတယ္။ ေနာက္ သ ူမေလးရွား တက သိုလ္ လွမ္း အလုပ္ေလွ်ာက္ေတာ့ ရတယ္ ။ ဒါေပမဲ႕ ပတ္စပုိ႔ ထုတ္မေပးဖူး ဦးေဖသိန္းက ကန္႕ကြက္တယ္။ ဂၽြန္လွခိုင္က ေတာလမ္းကေန ထြက္သြားေတာ့ မေလးအ၀င္ ဟတ္ဂ်ိဳင္းမွာ လူ၀င္မႈက ဖမ္းျပီး ေထာင္ခ်တယ္။ ေထာင္ထဲမွာ ၃ႏွစ္ ေနရျပီးမွ ကုလသမဂ မဟာ မင္းၾကီးရံုးမွာ ရဖ်ဳဂ်ီ ေလွ်ာက္ေတာ့ရတယ္။ အခုေတာ့ မေလး ေဆးတကသိုလ္ အနာတမီ ဌာနမွာ ဂ်ာလာလူဒင္ ဆိုျပီး လုပ္ေနပါတယ္။ ဒီအေၾကာင္း ေျပ၊ေဆး၂၊က မေဟသီ မဂဇင္းမွာ ၁၉၉၀ ေလာက္က အခန္းဆက္ ေရးတာ တလျပီး ေနာက္ပိုင္း စီစိေရးက ျဖဳတ္တာခံရတယ္။ ဆိုခ်င္တာက ဘိုေဖသိန္းက ဆရာ၀န္ေတြ အေပၚ ဘ၀ ပ်က္တဲ့ထိ လုပ္ခဲ႕တာ ရွိခဲ႕တဲ႕အေၾကာင္းပါ ဘိုဘိုလန္းစင္ အေသးစိတ္ သိခ်င္ရင္ မေလး ေဆးတကသိုလ္မွာ ရွာၾကည့္ပါ သူ႕နာမည္က မေလးလို ဂ်ာလာလူဒင္ တဲ႕ သူက ဂၽြန္လွခိုင္ပါပဲ။ ေဒါက္တာ ေမာင္ေမာင္ညိဳနဲ႕ အျပိဳင္ေပါ့။

Dear Author,
May I suggest not to write such a kind of article about a slave of military dictators? When Pe Thein was in the seat of minister of health and education of the junta, the only thing he did was how to please Khin Nyunt and Khine Win Shwe. At that time I was just a first year medical student and one of our professors always mentioned how stupid and snobbish Pe Thein was. I never forgot what he said in the speech when he came and met us in the lecture theater during the days of first MB. All his speech were full of Khin Nyunt and how Khin Nyunt was a good leader/great chairman of the national health committee.
If he would be still alive, he is the one who would be prosecuted in the Court when democracy comes up in the Country.
I am sure Pe Thein is in the Hell now!
